Sugar & Spice are Iowa natives who started collaborating in 2021, both members have been doing solo acts years prior but found their talents solidified when joined together.  

Tom Grubb, a well-known guitar and solo vocalist in Cedar Rapids started his journey in music years back and has never lost the motivation or love for the craft. Tom has performed at many establishments and is well by respected within local and broad musicians. 

Barbie Johnson, started her solo act in late 2019, and throughout 2020 had the ability to brand herself as a powerful vocalist. In the summer of 2021, she opened for local artist Alisabeth Von Presley at the McGrath Amphitheater.  

After meeting in August 2021, Sugar & Spice has grown and meshed into a one-of-a-kind duo, powering into 2022 with musicality and opportunity.
